Diseases transmitted by flies and mosquitoes in Poland

Mosquitoes in Germany transmit, among other things, dirofilariasis and leishmaniasis. According to specialists at the National Institute of Public Health, these exotic diseases can be transmitted from dogs to humans through mosquitoes. Infections are rare in humans, as animals are primarily exposed to dirofilariasis and leishmaniasis.

In Germany there is another type of parasite - Dirofilaria repens, which only nests in the skin. The parasite can even circle under our skin for several months to find a nesting site. The presence of the parasite is revealed by a nodule on the skin with a diameter of approximately 2 cm. Treatment involves surgical removal of the parasite.






The operation of an insect killer lamp

 The lamp uses phototropism and attracts insects, which electrocute and die nearby.

The main task of the lamp for insects is the UV-A fluorescent lamp. Low-pressure mercury fluorescent lamps used in insect lamps consist of a cylindrical glass housing two electrodes with an inner phosphor layer. Ultraviolet emission is produced up to 365 nm, which is completely harmless to humans.

These wavelengths are optimal for attracting flying insects and have more effect on them than any other light. In this way, the insects try to get as close as possible to the light source, even during the day.
